Fitting Kitchen Worktops and Solid Surface Worktops

When choosing a worktop for your kitchen, it is important to choose a worktop that is suitable for your requirements.

With so many to choose from and with each worksurface having different properties, your choice of worktop is essential to your overall design.

Kitchen worktops represent up to 40% of the visual space in an average kitchen and can completely change the look and feel of your kitchen remodel. Dark colours absorb light while lighter colours reflect making a room appear more spacious. Upstands and splashbacks can be used to add finishing touches that make the overall look and feel of the kitchen.

Solid surface worktops are becoming increasingly more popular due to their incredible versatility. Worktops like Dupont Corian and Samsung Staron are at the forefront of this with thousands of installs both commercially and domestically. If you can imagine it, it can probably be made from Corian or Staron.

Unlike many solid surface materials, Corian and Staron are made from acrylic making them hard enough to withstand the rigors of the modern kitchen. Each of these materials does need to be installed by a certified and licensed fabricator, however, to ensure the limited manufacturers warranty can be validated. Whether you buy your Corian and Staron from a retailer or direct from the fabricator, it is essential that your installation is carried out by a licensed fabricator.

Completely non porous and able to be fabricated into practically any shape Corian and Staron can be seamlessly joined and thermoformed to create integrated upstands and sinks, wall cladding, shower trays, bathroom vanities and much much more
